American Idol is hitting Dallas for the third time. This one is better, and so far 31 people earned Golden Tickets. Maybe the next ‘American Idol’ could be once again coming from Texas (Kelly Clarkson anyone?). Guest judges were two gentlemen namely, Neil Patrick Harris and Joe Jonas.
First up is Julie Kevelighan, who also tried in the first season (if anyone still remembers her). She sings “Black Velvet” and too bad, that one just didn’t make it. She keeps on singing leaving no choice for the security but to escort her on her way out.
Once again, the short cuts of yeses to those ‘who made it’…
Up next is a big man, actually a dock worker, named Lloyd Thomas. He got two daughters and we got some ‘back stories’ etc. He sings “Overjoyed” and that’s a good voice right there. This guy goes to Hollywood with four yeses.
Kimberly Carver, singing her original track. Most of the time this won’t be good than the usual audition, but at least better. She got a great voice and got 3 yeses. Simon on the other hand, disagrees…
Next is Dexter Ward. Not a good one, but he’s confident enough to wink to the camera and just keep on smiling. After the judges smash his dreams, he lost that smile!
Erica Rhodes started as a Barney Kid and ot she’s fully grown and carrying a whip! Harris said he is having some creeps since she’s having a whip! She then sings “Free Your Mind” and for some reason, she gets the Golden Ticket.
Next is a sob story courtesy of Dave Pittman. He’s got Tourette’s Syndrome. He sings Sam Cooke’s “Bring It on Home to Me” earning him a Golden Ticket.
Comes DAY 2: Guest Judge is Joe Jonas, also a Dallas native.
Todrick Hall earns four yeses. Having a comment like having a “star power” is something he should remember. He’s in for the next round.
Filler: People with Golden Tickets…
Another Golden Ticket goes to Maegan Wright. Eventhough that her clothes get negative to Kara, she likes her voice and Simon even told her that he likes her outfit. She’s effortlessly in for the next round.
Anessa Johnston is 22 years old and loud! She shouts and all that and Simon got this: “if anyone ever asked me what my nightmares looked and sounded like, I’m going to refer them to that.” Four NOs for her and she says thank you to them…
Sob story is up next and this time we got it from Christian Spear. She is a leukemia survivor, in remission for 8 years. She got a great voice but one of the Jonas seems to be bored while watching her sing. She’s in for the next round.
For this episode, my pick is Maegan Wright, Todrick Hall and Lloyd Thomas. Put your own bet upon watching the video below…

You wouldnt happen to know the name of the song, at the very end of Jan 27, 2010 episode, it was in the last couple minutes, there were no words/singing, just music
